After every Uber ride you take, your driver gives you a rating on a scale from one to five, based on your behavior. That rating is then averaged into your overall passenger score, which drivers consider before they decide whether or not to pick you up.
In other words: You don't want a bad rating.
So we compiled a list of seven things you might be doing to annoy your Uber driver and destroy your rating. Avoid these behaviors to ensure a smooth ride for both you and your driver.
THE LIST!!!
Just before dark, I picked up a girl from a wedding. She said that I saved her!
She had been invited to a wedding where she knew no one & setup with a blind date. It turned out that her date was gay.
Before she left my car, she gave me a hug!
Yesterday, I picked up a couple at a downtown bar! She appeared to be completely normal but her boyfriend(?) could hardly stand. She was very beautiful & probably in her late teens or early 20s.
She sat in the front seat while her "friend" sprawled out in the back. She discussed everything about her day except her date. Occasionally, he would sit up & cuss one of us & then lay back down.
Upon reaching her luxury apartment, she exited, walked over to a girlfriend or roommate & started bawling. She had been completely composed on the way..
I then exited the car & opened the door for the drunk boyfriend. He got out, looked as though he was going to take a swing at me but then reached out to shake my hand!
Why would any girl put up with a jerk like that?
When I became an Uber Driver, it was necessary for me to have my car approved as well as a background check! The car had to be a 2006 or older 4 door vehicle.
Remembering back to my first day out - I was pretty nervous & had no idea what I was doing. One of my chief worries was where would the passenger(s) sit?
My very first rider was a girl in her twenties who wished to go downtown! I had a very difficult time talking to her & keeping an eye of my iPhone which was using the Google Maps via the Uber App for Drivers!
When she asked how long that I had been driving, I stated that this my first month (not to mention first day & very first rider!).
After dropping her off, I went to a downtown church parking lost, found a shady spot & waited. And waited! And waited for hours with no further ride request. Later I found out to my chagrin that the Uber Driver App had loaded wrong & switched off after each ride. It took several weeks for me to figure this out plus no audio for Google Map directions until I removed the Uber App & then reloaded!
Now, I hardly ever look at my phone & follow the Google Map verbal directions - which leaves me free to talk with my rider(s)...
